In the 19th century ballet "Swan Lake," comprising Russian folk tales and composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, that very scene spurs the love story between a prince, Siegfried, and a princess turned Swan Queen, Odette, in a dramatic, seductive story where things twist, turn and are not as they appear.
The story of "Swan Lake" includes the coming of age Prince Siegfried, performed by Ballet San Jose's Maykel Solas, who has been instructed by his mother that he has to choose a wife and take on responsibility.
